The famous wine estate Joh. Jos. Prüm was founded in 1911 in Wehlen, on the Mosel. It is one of the most unique white wine producers in Germany.
We started the grape harvest on 1 st October and were initially able to harvest pleasing quantities of beautiful Kabinett grapes, particularly in the Wehlener Sonnenuhr, and then also grapes of excellent Spätlese quality in all four vineyards. When it became almost summery again in the course of October, the grapes also ripened to Auslese and Goldkapsel levels, and we even were able to select a small amount of Beerenauslese. The harvest ended on 31st October.
The Badstube borders on the Graacher Himmelreich, it faces south-south-west and south-west and, with a maximum slope of 65 percent, is less steep and thus also receives less sunlight. The name Badstube probably dates back to the Middle Ages - at that time hot springs were probably still bubbling there.
