The famous wine estate Joh. Jos. Prüm was founded in 1911in Wehlen, on the Mosel. It is one of the most unique white wine producers in Germany.
Vintage 2020 started with a mild winter, but also some good humidity. Budbreak and flowering happened early in April / June and summer continued through September. Overall, this vintage had more sunshine hours than ever. Harvest began on 17th of September and ended on 21st of October, rendering healthy grapes with moderate sugar levels and good acidity. All Prädikate from Kabinett to TBA were harvested and quantities were better than in 2019.
Graacher Himmelreich ("Kingdom of Heaven in the Village of Grach), west-facing, slightly less steep and deeper soils than the Wehlen Sundial, weathered gray slate soil with good water storage.
Hand-harvested; mainly single vinification; fermentation in stainless steel tanks with wild yeast.
