The Estate Baron Knyphausen is known as a Riesling pioneer and cultivates 12 hectares in the Rheingau region
2015 was characterized by a long period of dryness and drought throughout the whole spring and summer. This hot weather resulted in the grapes ripening very well, with high quality, however the quantity was a bit diminished overall. In September, just before picking started, short but heavy rains, combined with quite warm weather, came in, which resulted in botrytis that in a few vineyards. The majority of the grapes was harvested in a ripe and healthy condition.
