The 2021 vintage had a very late start. First, there was a very cool spring with partly frosty temperatures, but without frost damage. The budding of the vines themselves took much longer than normal. A process that is usually over within a few days dragged on for over 3 weeks in 2021. The "summer" was consistently too wet, which was a great challenge both for the grapes and for plant protection. For the grape harvest, the weather calmed down and there were more dry days. In the end, the quality of the grapes was still good.
