Vintage report

It seemed to be one of the most rainy years ever. During the months May to July we had more than 200 l/m² rainfall. The soil was not able to dry out to let us work properly in the vineyards for some weeks. After the rainy summertime we had a very hot and sunny Indian summer. In September we had day temperatures above 86°F (30°C) with the risk of sunburn of the grapes. But this weather improved the quality significantly. The harvest team started picking at the 4^th of October and finished at the 18^th of October with a very high quality of the grapes but low quantity compared to regular years.
 

Terroir

Blend of 100 % Riesling from the Knyphausen vineyard sites, deep-rooted loess and gravel, in some parts loess-loam and clay with sporadic lime inclusions
