Winerie

The Thanisch estate is currently in the hands of Sophia Thanisch, who is holding up the wine growing tradition in the 11th family generation. The focus is solely on Riesling from vineyards in Bernkastel, Mosel. Some of the vines are still original ungrafted rootstocks, which explaines their great rapture at the wine lists in famous restaurants over the world.

Vintage report

This year's harvest started on September 23rd and ended on October 22nd, as we had to keep interrupting it due to rainfall. However, the result of our hard work is impressive in terms of quality. The harvest quantity is slightly below the long-term average. The quality of the harvested material suggests very good to excellent wines. To summarize: a really exciting and elegant vintage with a lot of minerality
