The traditional estate is owned by the Eser family and located in the Rheingau region. They´re a member of the VDP association and the CHARTA group.
Driven by the warm weather in March, the Riesling vines awoke unusually early from their winter rest. However, the disadvantages of this very early budding were evident after the hard frosts at the end of April with considerable damage to the early buds. By the beginning of August, the beginnings of maturation were evident. During the night of August 1st, a devastating storm in the Rheingau was responsible for substantial wind damage in the vineyards. Subsequently, the long, wet periods from August until mid-September caused considerable rotting of the fruit and compelled an early and speedy harvest in order to save the intact grapes.
