Founded in 1136 by cistercien monks, the Kloster Eberbach is producing 238 hectars of the most popular vineyard sites in the Rheingau region
2019 started early in the first week of September with Frühburgunder and some Pinot Blanc from the Hessische Bergstrasse. Two thirds of harvest were rain free with healthy and well ripened grapes. A few days of rain increased Botrytis and thus the potential for noble sweet wines. Overall, the reds are with good tannin structures, flavors and deep red color and the whites are aromatic with elegant acidity and good extract. It was a very good vintage for Kloster Eberbach and we are looking forward to the finished wines in our glasses.
