Founded in 1136 by cistercien monks, the Kloster Eberbach is producing 238 hectars of the most popular vineyard sites in the Rheingau region
Winter was exceptionally long and cold. The first truly warm day was April 15. This led to rapid growth of the vines until bud burst on April 29. May turned cold and wet, and summer temperatures did not begin until mid-June. The spring weather fluctuations greatly affected the bloom – it lasted almost ten weeks, until July 10! A surplus of rain in May and June proved beneficial, as the rest of the summer was warm and dry. Harvest began September 30 with Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. The consequences of the poor florescence became visible.
Blend of 100 % Riesling from the Kloster Eberbach vineyards sites.
