Bernhard Huber cultivates the 26 hectares of the family vineyards, with varieties of mainly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but also a small amount of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris.
Vintage 2017 started with late frost in April. Temperatures down to -5°C affected nearly all Chardonnays in Schlossberg and in general we had a crop reduction of 30%. It could have been worse, most of the vines recovered and the latent bud put forth, partly with small grapes. Due to these differences in development the frost brought a big challenge during vegetation and harvest. Harvest started end of August, accompanied of an intensive selection in the vineyard with the result of fine fruited wines with a lot of elegance, pureness and freshness.
