In 1400, the Liebfraumilch has been cultivated by Capucin monks around the church of "Our dear lady", in the citycentre of Worms, Rheinhessen. Peter Joseph Valckenberg exported the “Liebfraumilch” as the first one in history. In 1908, Nicolas Valckenberg created the wine line “Liebfrauenstift".
This year's vintage has produced very good qualities nationwide. The young 2019 white wines already present themselves very aromatic, well balanced with pleasantly fresh fruit acid. The red wines rest colorful and velvety with great potential in the cellars. As in the previous year, 2019 was characterized by high temperatures and widespread drought, some of which was extreme in individual growing regions. In almost all regions, the intense sunlight in July led to sunburn damage to the berries. Otherwise, there were hardly any problems with vine diseases or pests, which is why very healthy and highly ripe grapes were harvested almost everywhere.
Selected wines with high levels of quality and the use of modern cellar techniques in production.
