From the 1 ha that Ewald Kopp started with in 1996, the winery has grown to 32 hectares of selected vineyards in the best locations in the Ortenau region. Johannes Kopp took over the winery at the age of 22.
Our world is characterized by an extraordinarily wide variety of soils consisting of weathered red sandstone, loess and clay soils, Upper Carboniferous and the particularly silicon-rich rock of the Red Porphyry in a very small area. The different subsoils significantly shape the character of our wines.
