Vintage report

The 2020 vintage produced very good qualities nationwide. Thanks to the dry and sunny autumn, the grapes were able to develop perfectly and healthily. However, the development of the grapes and the harvest quantities varied greatly in the growing regions. After a warm and sunny spring, the vines showed the first green shoots already in April. Just in time for the Ice Saints in mid-May, however, the weather turned frosty once again, causing severe frost damage and considerable yield losses. The vines developed their blossoms as early as the end of May - eight to ten days ahead of the average of the last 30 years. Accordingly, the main wine harvest started early in many growing regions, as early as the end of August. The year 2020 will be remembered by most as a "turbo autumn," which often ended as early as September.
